Yes. IMPRINT uses a "Vault Architecture." Your entire database is encrypted using industry-standard AES-256 encryption. It is only decrypted into your computer's secure memory while the application is open. When you close the app, the data is re-secured on your disk.

No. IMPRINT is a local-first application. Your data never leaves your computer. We do not use cloud storage for your database, ensuring you have 100% sovereignty over your financial records.

Having to extract data from multiple spreadsheets, all in different formats, and then use that to work out how much money I owed my authors, often having to juggle different currencies. Even with the complex spreadsheet I made to help with the task, it used to take me hours. Conversely, as an author, one of the biggest worries was getting paid. You hear a lot of horror stories of small (and some bigger) presses that don’t send their royalties out one time (or at all). So I decided to do something about it. The result of that is Imprint. A software tool that allows me to import all of my royalty files in one go, import the payment file to set the exchange rates, then automatically generate my royalty statements with a single mouse click. When you generate a royalty statement, IMPRINT automatically checks the author's current advance balance. If an advance is outstanding, the royalties earned are first applied to "pay down" the advance. Only once the advance is cleared will the statement show a balance payable to the author.

Yes. You can generate a statement as many times as you like. IMPRINT tracks which specific sales records have already been "paid" to ensure that an author's advance isn't accidentally reduced twice for the same sale.

The system uses a "Home Currency" which is set when you first install the application. When you import KDP Payment files, the system updates the exchange rates. When generating statements for international authors, IMPRINT applies these rates to ensure they see their earnings in their preferred currency (USD, EUR, etc.).

Use the "Create Encrypted Backup" feature in the Settings menu. This creates a portable ZIP file. You will set a backup password that allows you to restore that data onto any other PC running IMPRINT.

Because of our high-security model, backup passwords are not recoverable by us. We recommend storing your backup password in a secure password manager.

In order to upgrade your Imprint Basic Edition to Imprint Core, you simply need to create a backup within Imprint Basic. When you then purchase Imprint Core, during the setup process you simply point the wizard at your encrypted backup file, enter the password, and the wizard takes care of the rest.

Imprint Core comes with a lifetime licence for the software that costs $149 USD. This gives you access to the software and your data forever, and gives you a year of extended support and updates. We then offer an optional annual subscription for $29 USD that covers all software updates, new features, bug fixes and updated import mappings. This means that if Amazon or ACX change their statement format, you can still import their new files into Imprint.

No. We get it. Everything seems to be on a subscription model these days, and all of these monthly payments add up. We can promise you this. You will never lose access to your data. The lifetime licence for the software means exactly that. Unfortunately, because vendors have a tendency to change the format of their import spreadsheets on a semi-regular basis, we need to cover the cost of maintaining the system going forward. So, our subscription model is optional. We don't limit any functionality within the application if your subscription expires apart from the ability to download new mapping files and application updates.

IMPRINT Basic currently supports the KDP Prior Months' Royalties report (XLSX format). Ensure you download the report from your KDP dashboard for the months you wish to import.
