My name is Graeme Reynolds. I’ve been running a small press called Horrific Tales Publishing since 2011, and I’m also the author of several horror novels including the High Moor Trilogy of werewolf novels and the Jack Carlton Supernatural Thriller Series. As a small publisher, one of the biggest headaches was the royalty run. Having to extract data from multiple spreadsheets, all in different formats, and then use that to work out how much money I owed my authors, often having to juggle different currencies. Even with the complex spreadsheet I made to help with the task, it used to take me hours. Conversely, as an author, one of the biggest worries was getting paid. You hear a lot of horror stories of small (and some bigger) presses that don’t send their royalties out one time (or at all). So I decided to do something about it. The result of that is Imprint. A software tool that allows me to import all of my royalty files in one go, import the payment file to set the exchange rates, then automatically generate my royalty statements with a single mouse click.
